BECOME A VOLUNTEER...

If you are interested in contributing a Thursday night or Saturday afternoon once or twice a month for two hours helping people with physical disabilities fly through the air then WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!

This unique one of a kind project is looking for people who are kind-hearted, patient, easy going and creative to be involved with people who have a physical disability and the courage to try something that hasn’t been done before.

There are needs for different kinds of volunteers…

Spotters/Dancers/Gymnasts/Athletes/Riggers/Climbers/Circus Performers
You will be trained in the safety procedures of the rigging from set up of the aerial rig to take down, getting people into their harnesses,  securing them into the bungee rig and lifting them into the air. You will be a spotter on the ground manipulating the person by their arms and/or legs till they are able to maneuver themselves. You can dance with them on the ground as they move through the air.

Medical Professionals
Occupational, physiotherapists and recreational therapists as well as medical personnel, kinesiologists, movement analysts and counsellors or students in these fields are needed to offer their expertise as we learn about the specific needs and abilities of people with various mobility issues. We will be developing safety protocol as we go along as this type of interactive art/sport between mover on the floor and mover in the air combine to create a new art form and physical activity. We will learn about the needs and issues related to each physical disability and being anti gravity in a harness.

Fundraisers
Need I say more? We need creative people who want to raise funds for this project. We need people who have marketing skills and business connections to help us obtain sponsorships.

Artists/Musicians/Photographers/Filmmakers/Documentary makers
Eventually we want to create performances involving multi-media experiences for both the performer and the audience. If you are into video, film, visual art, music we can use your talents to create something wonderfully inspiring. Something good that the world needs NOW.
